Plymouth Thanksgiving Festival 2014
Plymouth Thanksgiving Festival - 2014
Land of the Free - Because of the Brave
Civil Rights—by definition—are a class of rights that protect citizens' freedom from infringement by governments, social organizations, and private individuals, and that ensure one's ability to participate in the civil and political life of the society and state without discrimination or repression.
The Cape Cod Home Learners celebrated Thanksgiving with the Plymouth Thanksgiving Food and Wine Festival. Joining in celebration, our group created a banner for the festival display honoring civil rights leaders in our nation. This banner was then used to honor MLK Day at the Sandwich Library.
The following civil rights leaders were honored in this display. See you you can match the person with a picture from our banner.
Lincoln
Frederick Douglas
John F. Kennedy
Harriet Tubman
Sojourner Truth
Susan B Anthony
Dred Scott
John Brown
