Much has transpired since our last post. All the final details and protective coats were completed. This whole project took an estimated 300+ hours! Yesterday, the final mural was framed and put in place at the big tent at the Cape Cod Centennial Celebration. THANKS to Dennis Mascetta, BAY BUILDERS, for his help framing! It looks beautiful.
Way to persevere CCHL! And of course this endeavor would NOT have been possible without the dedication of our Art Instructor, Rick Freed, and our Advisor, Lauren! Well, we've got to go. The opening ceremony is at 1:00 p.m. today. Hope to see you at the tent!
The highlight of today was laying the four boards down on the ground, enabling us to see what images needed adjustment. This was our first time seeing the big picture! Everyone got in on the painting today, including adults and friends. We are taking a break for the Fourth of July and will be back to finish painting the fine details on the mural next week. The end is in sight. I'm pretty sure some of the students will be painting in their sleep!
